SMILE-FX® / Miramar / Braces
Braces wax and rubbing
Contact and care
Wax temporarily covers rubbing brackets or wires for smoother contact; assessment or repair remains separate.
Dorset's leaflet describes moulding wax around a brace and notes it can come away when eating.
General tenderness and rubbing are different reported experiences.
Both conversations below are invented illustrations, not actual clinic replies, diagnoses, promised appointments or observed results.
A teen and guardian
Teen: “My bracket rubs.”
Team (illustrative): “Wax covers contact; describe the rubbing to us.”
Teen: “It's temporary cover. I'll describe what rubs.”
Guardian: “I'll help you report it.”
An adult's appliance concern
Adult: “My bracket looks loose.”
Team (illustrative): “Wax isn't repair; contact us for assessment.”
Adult: “Cover doesn't settle my concern; my team assesses it.”
When help is urgent
Heavy bleeding, breathing or swallowing difficulty, or major facial injury: urgent medical or dental help.
For ongoing care, contact your treating team first through its supplied route. A prospective consultation request is not urgent help or an emergency contact.
